IOTC 2008, the Irish Open Source Technologies Conference was a three day event showcasing the Open Source movement in Ireland. It presented the diverse projects that Open Source committers are spearheading, and covered 'must know' topics from Ruby (with Geoffrey Grosenbach), Python and PHP, specialised areas like EclipseLink (with Shaun Smith), LISP (with Ireland's Youngest Ever Tech Millionaire, Patrick Collison).

Attendees of IOTC 2008 heard Colm MacCarthaigh explain how to build a career in Open Source, and how and why AIB, Ireland's biggest banking instituation, rolled out Linux desktops across their whole bank, a project which has been heralded as the biggest ever Open Source deployment in Ireland, if not in Europe, plus many more world class speakers.

Aside from the presentations, the IOTC provided a place to network, meet industry experts, collaborate with partners, and even a platform to new customers.

Put simply, the IOTC 2008 was a technology conference you should not have missed!
